As time passes and I get closer to the day that I leave Melbourne, I can’t help but feel a little sad. At the point of me writing this blog, I only have three more weekends here in Melbourne. The weekends are always special to me because it’s during these weekends that my roommate and I would pack up some lunch, put on our sneakers, and go out into nature searching for things that we can only see here. It’s lead us to many beautiful hikes, we’ve seen some gorgeous waterfalls and it has given us a break from the hustle and bustle of the big city. (And Melbourne truly is a big city).
This past weekend, we collected seashells on two different beaches, and we saw what is officially my favorite waterfall that I’ve visited here.
Stevenson Falls
This waterfall is situated in the Great Otway National Park (a park which I’ve written about in a previous blog post). To reach it, we took an easy walk through a meadow and along a small river. You can get a great view of these falls from any point on the trail once you pass a certain point. What’s cool about this fall is that there are also a lot of big rocks scattered along the banks that are perfect for stepping and experiencing the might of the waterfall from a unique perspective.
Anglesea Beach and Torquey Beach
Originally, we had gone to Torquey Beach because we heard that there are lots of seashells there. Unfortunately for us, we didn’t find that many at that beach, so we decided to go to Anglesea.
