This week’s blog is from WatchHouse Cafe at Convent Garden. Cafes will always be my favorite spot to work from at London because there are so many work friendly cafes around London that it motivates me to get my work done. Right now, I am sitting in front of this huge window which overlooks the ice skating ring and a huge Christmas tree- who doesn’t wanna work when you get a view like this?
Coming to the activities for this week, I took a solo trip to Scotland and I had the best time of my life. I left on Wednesday morning and it took me around 12 hours to reach there. That evening, I took a stroll down the roads of Eidenburgh and ended the night with a drink at the pub. I ended up talking to a Scottish guy for three hours there and I must say, the conversation was indeed very interesting. He told me about the history of the Royal Mile, the Castle. Not going to lie, initially I had a hard time understanding him because he had a very heavy Scottish accent but after talking to him for a little while, I got the hold of it. This was strange because every place I have visited, I can understand what people say except for a few words but this was completely different – I could understand almost nothing, initially.
The day after, I had booked a guided tour to the highlands and Loch Ness. The pictures I took with my phone doesn’t do justice to the views I saw from up there. It was freezing and I could feel my hands almost going numb but every bit of it was worth it. Just the road we were going through felt like a painted picture. The leaves were yellow- the typical Fall color. There were so many waterfalls – overall absolutely stunning.
After making a few stops, I went on a cruise on Loch Ness . We felt we were so close to the clouds that we could almost touch it. It was so cold that the mist was hanging right above the water. We heard the stories about the famous Lake Monster and also the various animals in the hills surrounding Loch Ness. After the trip, I felt very fortunate that I got to experience this view. I feel I have mentioned this in my blog almost every week now but I really mean it.
The next day, I took a stroll around Edinburg again. I started my day with a cup of coffee from this cafe called MilkMan. Then I walked around for almost 4 hours. I visited the castle, visited various markets. And ah, can’t emphasize about how good the food was. In general I felt, I felt I had some of the best food at Scotland in my time here.
So in conclusion, if you are in London take a trip to Scotland cause it’s worth it.
