“People who love to eat are always the best people” – Julia Child
I can honestly say that the food has been one of my favorite things about this study abroad experience. London is the perfect example of what a melting pot really is. It is so easy to find culturally different food all in the same area here… which can sometimes make it difficult to decide what you want. You could always stay local and go to a local Pizzeria, Nando’s or even KFC. Or you could venture out a bit to Borough or Camden Market. Here are a few of the places that I’ve tried that have either become my go to spot for food or a spot that I really enjoyed.
Da Mario Pizzaria is a spot that I have already visited various times, not only for their delicious pizza but also for their pasta. Its located on the same street of my dorm, so it quickly became my go to spot.

Flavours Gelato was actually an accidental find that was a pleasant surprise. My roommate and I were on our way to a popular photo spot when we learned that this place no longer existed (things like this have been happening to us frequently since we’ve gotten here). On our walk back to the tube, I saw a sign that had ice cream on it so obviously I had to make a slight detour…and that’s how I discovered Flavours Gelato located on Jamaica Ave. I got their mint chip flavored gelato, which was the highlight to my day 🙂

Coco Momo is a local cafe right around the corner that has become one of my favorite spots. I played it safe my first time here by trying one of their burgers and fries, with a ginergerbread cappuccino. After that, I was hooked. And to make this place even better, their Friday special is Fish and Chips 🙂
Afternoon Tea at the Royal Garden Hotel was by far one of my favorite food related experiences so far. If you know me, then you know that I love tea and that I also love sweets. As a result, I was heaven when I had both of these things sitting right in front of me as I appreciated the view of the Kensington Palace Garden. And of course the finger sandwiches were great too. After this day, I am convinced that doing afternoon tea will become my new hobby.
Stay tuned for more of my London food finds!
