I am Hari Lal, an exchange student at the University of Bristol in UK with major in Computer Science this Fall 2023. As an exchange student, London is a great city to explore. There is something for everyone, from history and culture to food and entertainment. Here are five things I recommend seeing:
1. Tower of London
The Tower of London is a must-see for any visitor to London. It’s a historic castle that’s been used as a royal palace, a prison, and an execution site over the centuries. Today, it’s a popular tourist attraction where you can learn about the Tower’s history and see the Crown Jewels.
One of the things I found most interesting about the Tower of London was learning about its role as a prison. Many famous prisoners were held in the Tower, including Queen Anne Boleyn and Sir Walter Raleigh. It was also the site of many executions, including the execution of Anne Boleyn.
When I visited the Tower of London, I was particularly impressed by the Crown Jewels. The collection includes the Crown of St Edward, the Imperial State Crown, and the Koh-i-Noor diamond. The Crown Jewels are a truly impressive sight to see.
2. Victoria and Albert Museum
The Albert Museum is another must-see for any visitor to London. It’s one of the world’s largest and most comprehensive museums, with a collection that spans over 5,000 years of human history.
One of the things I like most about the Albert Museum is that it’s free to enter. This makes it a great place to visit on a budget.
The Albert Museum has a wide variety of exhibits to see, but my favorite is the Glass and Gold section. This section features a stunning collection of glassware and goldwork from around the world. I was particularly impressed by the collection of Venetian glass and the collection of Indian gold jewelry.

3. Hyde Park
Hyde Park is one of London’s largest and most popular parks. It’s a great place to relax and escape the hustle and bustle of the city.
I loved spending time in Hyde Park. It’s a great place to go for a walk, have a picnic, or simply relax and enjoy the scenery.

4. West End
London’s West End is the city’s theater district. It’s home to some of the world’s most famous theaters, including the Drury Lane and the Apollo.
The West End offers a wide variety of shows, from musicals and plays to comedy and dance. There’s something for everyone in the West End.
I highly recommend seeing a show in the West End. It’s a truly unforgettable experience. I recently had the opportunity to see the musical Crazy for You, and I absolutely loved it. The show was full of energy and fun, and the cast was amazing.
5. Piccadilly Circus
Piccadilly Circus is one of London’s busiest and most iconic intersections. It’s located in the heart of the West End and is surrounded by shops, restaurants, and theaters.
Piccadilly Circus is a great place to watch people and soak up the atmosphere of London. It’s also a popular spot for taking photos.
I prefer visiting Piccadilly Circus at night. It’s a truly magical place. The lights and the energy are electric.
