Hello there! If you’re reading my blog, chances are you’re either a Drexel student or soon to be one. Greetings! I’m Ela, and I’m thrilled to share my insights, experiences, and knowledge about college, education, and university life.
I could say that the past 2 weeks have been the most intense weeks in my entire life! Just this Monday, I arrived in Philadelphia with two big suitcases and a bunch of memories from NYC, where I spent 10 days with my sister on a goodbye trip! As my first time in the US, NYC has captured my whole heart and has set a high bar, but there’s plenty of room for Philadelphia to impress!

Philly welcomed me with a rainy day. Going up and down all day long, I did plenty of things on my first day in this new city.
I moved into my new apartment and met my three roommates, who helped me with the whole process and gave me a tour around the residence apartments! I’m staying at Evo at Philly, which might sound familiar to many of you.
But before the end of the day, I had to buy a lot of stuff for what would be my new home for the next few months, so I went to Target and obtained all my necessary supplies, including bed sheets, lamps, towels… I also went to Trader Joe’s to get some food! While there’s still some room for improvement, this is how my bedroom looks right now:
I started my first class at Drexel on the same day as my arrival, and lucky me, it was with a friend from Spain, Alvaro, who you might already know as he has been a blogger last term. He guided me through the Drexel campus and showed me university store.
At the pizza party, I got to meet a bunch of cool international students who’ve been around Philly for a while. They shared their experiences and gave me some solid advice, like where to grab the best grub and where to find the best study spots on campus. It was awesome to connect with them and feel more at home here. Their tips definitely helped calm my nerves about settling in at Drexel.
As I settle into my new surroundings, I’m excited to explore more of Philadelphia and immerse myself in the vibrant culture of Drexel University. Keep an eye out for more updates as I get into the swing of things!
