From the ebb and flow of the tides to the celestial spectacle of the eclipse
A testament to Philadelphia’s maritime heritage, Penn’s Landing blends colonial history with modern-day riverfront life. Named after William Penn, this district offers a vibrant backdrop for entertainment and recreation.

Each vessel tells tales of explorers and traders who once navigated these waters. Among them is the USS Olympia, a historic naval cruiser that served as Admiral George Dewey’s flagship during the Spanish-American War. Today, visitors can step aboard this floating museum and explore its decks.
Along the riverfront path, I walked into the Cherry Street Pier, a former shipping pier transformed into a dynamic cultural spot. As I stepped inside, it was filled with artists, artisans, and entrepreneurs showcasing their talents in vibrant studio spaces and pop-up shops.

The pier’s industrial charm is juxtaposed with unique artwork and crafts, creating a unique blend of old-world charm and contemporary flair. There is also a picturesque view of the Benjamin Franklin Bridge.
Later in the week, I ventured to the Rodin Museum, seeking solace amidst the vibrant energy of the city.

Amidst the lively cityscape, I found a moment of quiet reflection and appreciation for the beauty of art and nature. I found refuge in the serene gardens of the museum, where the sculptures of Auguste Rodin stood as timeless witnesses to the passage of time.
Afterwards, I attended the eclipse event held at the Benjamin Franklin Museum, surrounded by a buzz of excitement and anticipation that filled the air.

Among the crowd, we eagerly awaited the celestial spectacle, exchanging animated conversations about the wonders of the universe. Although it was cloudy, I caught a glimpse of the Great North American Eclipse.
Witnessing this rare eclipse here in Philly was a fun experience as I was surrounded by fervent enthusiasts. It’s moments like these that remind me of the beauty and wonders of the world beyond our everyday lives. With that, more adventure awaits in Drexel University!
