A Weekend Trip to Milan from Monaco

Did you know that Milan is a popular weekend destination from Monaco? Last weekend, my friends and I decided to spend a couple of days in Milan. Getting there was easy and affordable – the train from Monaco only costs about €20 and takes around four hours. The ride was great, and the views of the French Riviera and Italian countryside made it even better. By the time we arrived, we were already excited to explore.

Our first stop was the Duomo di Milano, in the center of the city. The cathedral was just as breathtaking as I imagined. After walking around the piazza and taking pictures, we went to a restaurant nearby with an incredible view of the Duomo. Sitting on the terrace, eating Italian pasta, and enjoying the atmosphere felt like a dream.

From there, we walked over to the Galleria Vittorio Emanuele II. It’s not just a shopping place; it’s like walking through a palace. The glass ceilings, mosaic floors, and elegant stores were so impressive. We walked through the shops and treated ourselves with gelato – it’s impossible to resist when you’re in Italy.

Later, we visited La Scala, the famous opera house. Even though we didn’t go to a performance, seeing the inside and learning about its history was so interesting. After that, we spent some time at the Moda Museum, which was all about fashion and Milan’s influence on the industry. It was fun to see how Milan became the fashion capital of the world.

In the evening, we headed to the Navigli district, known for its canals and lively vibe. The whole area felt so alive with people laughing and music in the background. On Sunday, we did a bit more shopping. Milan’s fashion district is impossible to skip, even if it’s just window shopping. Before we knew it, it was time to catch the train back to Monaco.

Milan is one of those cities that has something for everyone. Whether you’re into food, fashion, or just exploring, it’s a place that makes every moment feel special. I already can’t wait to go back someday!
