Airport of your dreams

March 4, 2019

I’m so glad that I don’t have classes on this Monday morning, since it’s recess week! Next week I have midterms but I already studied ahead of time because today I am going to the airport to pick up my boyfriend!

I have a pretty busy week with many sightseeing opportunities but first I start out with taking the MRT to Changi Airport. This is only the second time that I have been to the airport other than when I arrived in January, since I don’t really have a reason to be there. When I arrived to the airport in January, I really had no idea how the MRT would work or any other means of transportation other than a taxi. The taxi was the easiest thing for me to do because it was going to take me directly to the school. This time, I made my way to the airport using the MRT which was connected to a terminal that I didn’t go through the first time.

I have read that Changi Airport is one of the best airports in the world. My first impression was something along those lines because I don’t have much to compare it to, since I haven’t really traveled. But, there is so much more of the airport that I have to see because my friend Helena recently showed me a link that focused on the new Jewel construction. It is basically a mini forest inside the airport with a bunch of cool things like a bridge and a playground for kids. It is amazing that all of this is just for an airport. This type of construction makes it more attractive to the public, even when there is no plans to travel.

The airport has so many terminals that I feel like I have to go visit it again before I leave and just walk around to make sure I see everything.

Once my boyfriend landed, we took the MRT to Novena. It was really cute and different because instead of seeing so many high rise buildings for residents, I saw a lot of small houses with neighborhoods similar to ours back in the states. We discovered a nearby Hawker Center that had the best Mango fruit juice. It was nice to walk around the neighborhood because it was not as busy as other parts that I had visited.

I am really excited for this week because I will get to do many different things from all over Singapore that have been on my list since I got here.
