Reflecting On My Experience

I truly cannot believe that it’s come to the end of my study abroad. The Healthcare in Latin America program was absolutely amazing, and I am going to miss Costa Rica and all of the experiences that I’ve had while I was here.

There are many things that I am going to miss. I’m going to miss sitting with my host mom at breakfast every morning. I’m going to miss the walks to and from school with my classmates. I’m going to miss being able to practice my Spanish everyday. I’m going to miss the food and the coffee. Im going to miss buying ice cream at “Pops.” I’m going to miss traveling on the weekends with friends. I’m going to miss meeting new people from all over the world. I’m going to miss the beaches. I’m going to miss the feeling of excitement each day. As you can see, I am going to miss a lot.

If you are thinking about studying abroad I hope that you do because I know you won’t regret it. Studying abroad changes your perspective on life, and I think it increases your desire to learn more about the world. You’re not just a part of your local community, but you can be a part of the entire global community. There’s so much to information to learn, people to meet, and experiences to be had.

Today I am leaving the beautiful country of Costa Rica and reflecting on what I’ve seen, the people I’ve met, and what I’ve learned. One thing I think for sure is that this was probably one of the most exciting times of my life. Not everyone gets the chance to live abroad for a couple of months or even go to a different country at all. I am so grateful for the opportunities that I have been given to have been able to come to Costa Rica.
