I forgot to talk about my trip to Malaysia!
Recently I went with a couple friends to an island called Tioman Island in Malaysia. I had spoken previously about how I haven’t traveled to other countries outside of Singapore because I wanted to stay on budget but Malaysia was actually not too pricey because we took a bus and not a plane.
We took a bus to Mersing, a city in Malaysia and then took a ferry to the Island.
Malaysia is so different from Singapore because there are a lot less rules. I saw motorcycles all over the place and barely saw street lights. There were cats roaming the streets and the city itself was not as clean if I compare it to Singapore.

Once we arrived to the Island, it was basically the same impression until we reached the place we were staying. We stayed in this little cabana right next to the beach and it was so cute. This place was very soothing and had everything in one place. Your room was next to the beach and there was a small main building where they had a gift shop on the bottom and a lounge on the top. In the lounge you could relax in a hammock while having an amazing view but you could also have all your meals there. They also had kayaks, diving and snorkeling equipment ready for you to use. It was all very nice to have everything together.

I really enjoyed my time here, it was so relaxing and definitely worth the trip. It was a small place and there were not too many people which I loved because it was great to get away from all the craziness. So nice to just be on a beach that is not overpopulated.

Kayaking was really fun, we went far out to this mini island of rocks piled onto each other. When we were done and started to kayak back to the beach, we saw the sunset. It was so pretty to see this amazing sunset while on the water. The whole sky turned to all these beautiful colors and I’m so glad I was able to see this. It felt so nice to be there and just soak it all in. When things like this happen, I remember how lucky I am to be able to experience it.

Tioman Island was certainly a great memory for me and I had so much fun. I would recommend it to anyone who wants to visit Malaysia but doesn’t want to deal with a crowd of people.
